Salem-Colchester
Salem is a 15 minute drive to the beaches and commutable to Hartford. Salem has many farms and country roads. Salem is also home to Gardner Lake State Park, Walden Preserve, Horse Pond and Burnetts Country Gardens.
Colchester is just north of Salem and is considered a sleepy suburb of Hartford. It is halfway from Hartford to the Casinos or to the eastern CT beaches. Colchester Village Historic District and the Salmon River State Forest can be found in this town.
