New London

New London was the second largest Whaling port in the world in the middle of the nineteenth century. Today New London is home to Ocean Beach Park, Fort Trumbull State Park, US Coast Guard Academy, US Coast Guard Museum, Garden Arts Center, Hygienic Art Gallery, Monte Cristo Cottage and the CT College Arboretum. You can also take a ferry to Orient Point or Block Island. There is an abundance of things to do, restaurants and travel options. Cruise ships have even stopped by the Port of New London.
